About

Sega's Master System is the Western version of the Mark III (Japan, 1985), sold in North America from 1986 and in Europe soon after. It trailed the NES in the United States and Japan but was a hit in Europe and Brazil, where it stayed on sale for many years.

Its games include Alex Kidd in Miracle World, Phantasy Star, Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap and the 8-bit Sonic the Hedgehog.
